Bluesky is owned by the Hunter family, philanthropists best known for the creation of the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurship at the University of Calgary. Bluesky utilizes an industry agnostic, hands-off investment approach to build a portfolio of non-controlling positions in seed stage companies, which currently stands at over 100 direct investments. In 2019, Bluesky was recognized as Canadian Angel Investor of the Year by the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO) as well as Technology Investor of the year by Start Alberta.
